Juleann Benkoski is a Lancaster, PA artist who creates wearableJULES using both metalsmithing and felting techniques.  The concept of making a precious “jewel” out of felt intrigues her. She likes to make pieces that look precious but are not created out of “precious materials” This way of thought is greatly due to her experience with the Radical Jewelry Makeover, founded by Ethical Metalsmiths, which takes donated jewelry and creates new pieces making the community a sustainable “mine.” The experience has greatly impacted her work in trying to find maintainable and reusable materials.. Juleann’s work can be found at www.wearablejules.com.
