colorful felt balls and then turning them into a
necklace. Juleann will show us all we need to know to get
started with this craft trend. She’ll have plenty of
supplies on hand to purchase for future projects and
she’ll have lots of examples of her own creative work for
inspiration and for sale.

Juleann Benkoski is a Lancaster, PA
artist who creates wearableJULES using both metalsmithing
and felting techniques. The concept of making a
precious “jewel” out of felt intrigues her. She likes to
make pieces that look precious but are not created out of
“precious materials” This way of thought is greatly due
to her experience with the Radical Jewelry Makeover,
founded by Ethical Metalsmiths, which takes donated
jewelry and creates new pieces making the community a
sustainable “mine.” The experience has greatly impacted
her work in trying to find maintainable and reusable
