Dance Movement Therapy

Much of human communication is non-verbal. How we feel shows in our actions every bit – if not more so – than in our words. Dance Movement Therapy is based on evidence that the body and mind are interconnected. Movement provides the therapist a means to understand the client through observation and an opportunity to reach the client through creative interventions. In Dance Movement Therapy sessions, clients learn how to listen to their own signals and find their expressive “voice” through movement. Once clients build a keen awareness of their unique expressions through movement, they can integrate these skills into their social interactions, making them strong and reflective communicators.
